Redressal of ROTAX SI-912i-035 Sodium Filled Exhaust Valves and New Cylinder Heads: Review ROTAX SI-912i-035 for instructions to retrofit exhaust valves and/or cylinder heads by attrition.
Lead Acid Battery Maintenance Charging: Routinely charge the aircraft battery as indicated. Only applicable for lead acid battery (RG-12LSA or RG-25XC).
Weight Exemption POH Update: Revise Chapters 2 and 9 of the Pilot’s Operating Handbook and insert the new FAA Weight Exemption Letter No. 10829D. This is required for continued airworthiness. NOTE: The Weight Exemption Letter 10829D is only valid for U.S.-registered, Light Sport Aircraft. For all other aircraft, refer to the applicable registration and/or certification requirements.
Use of non-ROTAX Fuel Filters: At the next condition inspection, ensure that fuel filters are replaced with ROTAX fuel filters, Labeled “ROTAX” with Part No. 874060.
Seawing Tip Inspection and Sealing: ICON has updated the bonding adhesive for the seawing tip mounting pins to a higher strength and begun to non-permanently seal/bond the seawing tip to the Seawings™.
Seawing Tip Inspection and Sealing: This engineering improvement is included on Aircraft Serial Number (ASN) 00075 and greater; however, we have become aware that the work instructions may not have been performed correctly on ASN 00075-00094 (inclusive). This Service Letter includes instructions on how to perform the disassembly, inspection, and proper re-installation of the sealed Seawing Tips.
